In line with its nomadic menu concept, award-winning Singapore cocktail lounge, MO Bar, has launched a collaborative series that seeks to take imbibers on a voyage through cocktails.

The Nomadic Cocktail Odyssey, as it’s called, sees concoctions invented by guest bartenders from various overseas venues offered at the Mandarin Oriental Singapore bar. Seeing how travel continues to be restricted, this initiative is a great way to get a taste of tipples created by bars around the world.

For this inaugural edition taking place throughout July 2021, MO Bar has tied up with Bacardi to present drinks made by four Hong Kong bars: The Diplomat, Tell Camelia, The Aubrey, and COA (which claimed top spot at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2021). Each bar is presenting one drink.

The Tuxedo +852, by John Nugent of The Diplomat, is a heady concoction of Star of Bombay gin, dry vermouth, Maraschino, pear and orange bitters. Having opened only in February 2020 at the peak of the pandemic, it’s nice to be able to get a taste of what The Diplomat offers since its rise to rapid recognition.

Meanwhile, Tell Camellia, being a tea-inspired cocktail bar, has come up with the T-groni, which we highly recommend. Created by co-founder Sandeep Hathiramani, it’s a smoky take on the classic Negroni using Bombay Sapphire gin, mezcal, Campari, sweet vermouth, orange bitters and lapsang souchong tea.

Then there’s Endgame, a daring creation by The Aubrey’s Devender Sehgal. The space only opened earlier this year, and is already a hotly anticipated venue being a co-venture with Maximal Concepts (Mott 32, Stockton). The cocktail itself is a highly daring mix of Patron Silver tequila, wasabi, Campari, sweet vermouth and sancho pepper.

As for famed agave-focused bar COA, expect no less from Jay Khan himself with his cocktail, La Fresa. The elixir of Patron Silver tequila, unaged mezcal, pink peppercorn, strawberry, and tonic water will spoil any tippler looking for a potent and layered yet easy-drinking option.

The limited-time Nomadic Cocktail Odyssey: Hong Kong menu is available for drink-in and takeaway throughout July 2021 only, with each drink priced at S$22. MO Bar’s usual menu remains available during this period.

MO Bar is located at The Mandarin Oriental Singapore, 5 Raffles Ave, Singapore 039797
