Scotch drinkers, here’s the sort of dessert you’ve been waiting for. Auchentoshan distillery, in collaboration with Singaporean gelato hotspot Denzy, has released the Whisky Pecan Dream, a creamy icy treat made using actual pours of the full-bodied Lowland whisky.
The Whisky Pecan Dream (2.29% ABV) is an indulgent creation, made using Auchentoshan’s iconic Three Wood Single Malt Scotch infused into a milky gelato base, then mixed with nicely roasted pecan nuts that have been marinated generously in coconut palm sugar.
The result is an utterly fragrant gelato full of crunch and creaminess. Each bite can be further enhanced with a specially-made whisky-infused konjac jelly topping, that ups the alcohol ante while giving added texture to the dessert.
Potent intricacies of the Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch – depth gained from its time spent ageing in bourbon, oloroso sherry, and PX sherry casks (thus the name) – surfaces gently as well, making the Whisky Pecan Dream a great gateway treat for those looking to get into the world of whisky appreciation.
Each bundle (S$88) comes inclusive of a pint of Whisky Pecan Dream, a full 700ml bottle of Auchentoshan Three Wood Single Malt Scotch, whisky-infused konjac jelly toppings, and a mini pipette you can use to infuse even more whisky directly into the gelato if you want to.
There’s no one right way to enjoy the bundle. Consume them all separately, or even try having the gelato paired with a dram of Auchentoshan – it’s your choice.
