Seeking to reintroduce the unique offerings of Austria to Singapore, the Austrian National Tourist Office and Austrian Embassy Singapore, in collaboration with Andaz Singapore, is debuting a week-long event to showcase the bounty and wealth of Austria’s vineyards and agriculture here.

The inaugural Austrian Gourmet Week takes place from Oct 29-Nov 2 at steakhouse 665°F, and will see the likes of renowned Austrian chefs Armin Leitgeb (formerly Head Chef at Les Amis) and Josef Mühlmann (from famed Alpine restaurant Der Gannerhof), serve up guest chef experiences.

Both Armin and Josef are members of Koch.Campus, a not-for-profit association and purveyor of Austrian fine food and produce. For the event, premium ingredients and imported produce from Austria will be featured.

The celebrated chefs will join hands with 665°F’s own award-winning Chef de Cuisine Poh Boon Neo, who hails from some of the world’s best kitchens, including three-Michelin-starred Les Amis and two-Michelin-starred Jaan.

Expect items like the Backhendl, an Austrian fried chicken dish served with cucumber salad and pumpkin seed oil; or the Tyrolean-style Rye Ravioli, a pasta dish influenced by the Austrian state of Tyrol, that’s finished with white cheese, brown butter, and chives.

Feel free to heighten the experience with curated wines from Austrian wineries such as Pittnauer and Tement, that are both family-owned-and-run. The former produces certified biodynamic and organic vino while the latter is known for their handcrafted single-vineyard wines.

Austrian Gourmet Week is being held as part of ReFocus Austria, an initiative by the Austrian government to aid economic recovery during and after Covid-19.

“The Austrian Gourmet Week will give Singaporeans an excellent opportunity to discover Austria’s fantastic culinary traditions,” says Peter Guschelbauer, Austrian Ambassador to Singapore. “This ReFocus Austria event is an invitation to visit Austria and to enjoy all it has to offer: great food, amazing landscapes and an abundance of art and culture.”
