Blended Scotch brand Monkey Shoulder is launching a new product in Singapore, the Smokey Monkey, through a two-week experiential camping-inspired event done in collab with award-winning Singapore bar Jigger & Pony.
The Smokey Monkey is a lightly peated blended malt Scotch, and like the classic Monkey Shoulder, is designed to be mixed in cocktails. Singapore is the first country in Asia to carry the new whisky.
The launch event, aptly called Camp Smokey, will see Jigger & Pony be transformed into a “campsite experience reminiscent of summer camping in the great outdoors”, states a release by William Grant & Sons, the spirits company behind the Monkey Shoulder brand.

Held from Apr 20-May 2, the event will feature three unique cocktails all made using the Smokey Monkey, and paired with equally campfire-worthy snacks such as smores and chicken wings.
“With Camp Smokey, we’ve created a fun, cheeky and unexpected way to introduce Smokey Monkey, the new peated malt whisky from Monkey Shoulder,” says Samuel Ng, brand ambassador for Monkey Shoulder.
“The experience is focused not only on showcasing the versatility of the liquid, but also to offer people a little playful escapism from the humdrum of daily life.”

Ng, together with Jigger & Pony principal bartender Silvio Daniele, will be onsite on event Sundays (Apr 25 and May 2) for a special guest shift where you can catch them dressed in ranger outfits while mixing drinks.
The Camp Smokey event follows closely behind the recent launch of the Smokey Monkey at 15 bars across Singapore such as Fat Prince, Skinny’s Lounge and Moonstone.
