67 Pall Mall Singapore

Oenophiles the world over now have a new must-visit wine destination. The first Asian outpost of well-known London-based private member’s wine club 67 Pall Mall has opened its doors in Singapore, bringing with it its brand of wine appreciation into this part of the world.

Debuting with a collection of 5,000 wines – of which 1,000 are available by the glass – it now claims the title of the biggest and most diverse wine list in Singapore, as well as in Southeast Asia.

67 Pall Mall Singapore is located at Shaw Centre on Orchard Road, housed within a beautifully refurbished 15,000 square feet penthouse that used to be the private residence of renowned philanthropist and founder of Shaw Organisation, Runme Shaw.

It spans the entire 27th and 28th floors of Shaw Centre, with art deco interiors reminiscent of 1920s and 1930s Shanghai. Windows and an outdoor terrace garden offer panoramic views of the shopping district below.

Satiating members’ thirst for both high-end and lesser-known wines is the club’s ethos, with Master of Wine (MW) Richard Hemming, the head of wine for Asia, having built a 15-strong sommelier team in Singapore, led by head sommelier Roberto Duran (formerly at Joël Robuchon and Bacchanalia), the local vanguards of that inclusive spirit.

Says Hemming: “It is an incredibly proud moment for us, opening a club in Singapore and presenting members with a list that represents all corners of the wine world. From the impossible-to-access Burgundian bottles to new, emerging winemakers deserving of a share of the limelight, our list captivates our members.”

67 Pall Mall Singapore will also be a hub for community development, with plans already in the pipeline to offer masterclasses, tastings, and themed dinners, as well as Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and CMS (Court of Master Sommeliers) courses.

An extensive food menu can also be savoured on-site, with the club offering an all-day dining menu of signature dishes from the London club plus new Asian-inspired dishes. It will also offer the largest dining menu among all of its clubs.

While the main 27th floor area will house its staggering 6m tall floor-to-ceiling wine tower main attraction, whisky drinkers will find solace here too, with a collection of 430 bottles available for tipplers at its more intimate Whisky Bar space found on the 28th floor.

67 Pall Mall was first founded in London in 2015 by Grant Ashton, who started the private club as a way to share his vast collection of wines with like-minded people.

“67 Pall Mall Singapore has been four years in the making since we started scouting for locations back in 2017,” says Ashton, founder and CEO of 67 Pall Mall. “Singapore’s vibrant culinary scene, love of wine and appetite for discovery has ensured a rapid growth of the wine scene here, which made it a natural choice for our first Asian flagship.

“Singapore’s opening will pave the way to many more expansion plans in future, linking our Asian members to a global wine network, with our current clubs in London and Verbier, as well as future locations such as Beaune.”

Membership fees are S$200 per month for Singapore residents, with a one-time joining fee of S$2,400 applicable. Special rates are available for those under 35 years old, as well as for wine professionals and overseas applicants.

67 Pall Mall Singapore is located at 1 Scotts Rd., #27-01 Shaw Centre, Singapore 228208.
