An izakaya alley, sommelier crew and more at the 9th Sake Festival Singapore

Sake fans, mark your calendars for the return of Singapore’s largest, longest-running gathering of all-things nihonshu.

Come 15 June, Sake Festival Singapore 2024 by organisers Orihara Shoten will once again take place at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre – this time, at a space double the size of last year’s.

The ticketed event will see more than 300 sake labels from 30 sake breweries in Japan available for tasting and purchase. Brewers and brewery representatives from Japan will be flying down personally to man the booths as well, so be sure to ask them all about the sakes they are serving.

If more interaction and education is what you seek, look out for the crew of 8 certified sake sommeliers who will be making their rounds around the festival grounds. They will be on hand to simply chat with you about sake, or even offer sake and food pairing suggestions.

Speaking of food, expect not 1, not 2, but 7 Japanese restaurants to be setting up shop at the festival. The Japanese Izakaya “Yokocho” Food Alley will see the likes of Hearth Irori & Oden Izakaya, Ramen Matsuri, and more offering comforting nosh ranging from udon to takoyaki.

First inaugurated in 2013, Sake Festival Singapore remains the city-state’s oldest and largest gathering of nihonshu for the community with the aim of education and promotion of sake.

Sake Festival Singapore 2024 takes place 2-7pm at Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, Level 4, Hall 404. Tickets are available online or at Orihara Shoten Robertson Walk at $60 each.
