Singapore’s top bars gather for the inaugural SG Cocktail Takeover

Jigger and Pony Singapore bar

If you needed a sign to head on out and explore Singapore’s ever-evolving cocktail scene, then this is it.

30 of Singapore’s best known cocktail spots – the likes of Jigger & Pony, Nutmeg & Clove, and Offtrack – are banding together for a 12-day celebration filled with special serves and eclectic events.

Taking place 1-12 May at bars all across town, SG Cocktail Takeover entices tipplers to paint the town red with all participating bars offering not one, but two exclusive sips priced at only S$18.

Beyond that are plenty of guest shifts, brunch parties, takeovers, and pop-ups too. We have our eyes set on the Brass Lion Gin & Groove, a guest shift and DJ party happening at Cin Cin. Or for something more low key, head over to Spectre for the Brush & Bubbles, where art jamming meets drinking for a different kind of weekend outing.

Other notable events include a K-cocktail night at Jigger & Pony, where Byungjin Lim of Bar Cham and Demie Kim of Zest from Seoul will be shaking up a storm.

“We really want to celebrate an industry and community that has become one of the jewels in Singapore’s crown,” says Guoyi Gan, co-founder and director of Jigger & Pony Group, and who is one of SG Cocktail Takeover’s initiators and leads.

“Singapore has fallen in love with cocktails and cocktail culture over the last decade, and the result has been a thriving industry that brings in people from all over the world both to invest in, and visit our stunning bars.

“In May, a diverse group of these bars will be rolling out their best hospitality by offering new and unique cocktails at a special price, so that more Singaporeans can come bar-hopping and try cocktails whilst drinking a toast with our exceptional local bar fraternity.”

SG Cocktail Takeover takes place 1-12 May at various bars. Head to their website for details on participating venues and latest events schedule.
