Hot off the launch of their very first store at Changi Airport Terminal 3 last year, 8 by Bottles & Bottles has now arrived in central Singapore with the opening of their second store at Great World City.
The drink-in bottle shop concept by homegrown wine and spirits retailer Bottles & Bottles is kicking things off with a bang, collaborating with famed Australian winery Penfolds for an in-store pop-up event taking place till Feb 15, 2022.
Expect the store to be decked out in alluring Penfolds red during this period. It’s also a great time to shop for wines, with a wide range of Penfolds’ coveted vintages and premium collectibles being made available all in one place, including their highly prized Grange.

Be sure to experience one of their tasting flights while you’re there. Those wanting an introduction to the brand can go for the S$20 (70ml/glass) option, where you’ll get to enjoy four of their solid vinos – Koonunga Hill Autumn Riesling 2020, Max’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Bin 8 2019, and Bin 28 2019 – and have a feel for their character.
Oenophiles looking for something more exceptional should opt for the S$128 (70ml/glass) flight instead. Here, you’ll get to have a taste of four of Penfolds’ best – the Bin 389 2019, St. Henri Shiraz 2018, RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018, and of course, the Grange 2017.
Beyond the pop-up, expect all the things you already know and love to be available at the Great World City outpost of 8 by Bottles & Bottles. On shelves are a vast selection of wines running the entire gamut of New and Old Worlds, including lesser-known personal favourites picked by owner Koh Chin Liang.
Other than wines, their wide array of sakes and spirits are also in stock. This includes exclusives such as HINE Cognac, as well as gifting sets of Dassai sake, which features a sample trio of the famed brewery’s 45, 39, and 23 bottlings (the numbers refer to the polishing ratio of the rice used).
One of the best things about drinking at 8 by Bottles & Bottles is their BYOF (bring your own food) policy. Simply purchase drinks at retail prices, then enjoy it in-store alongside food from anywhere you fancy. This means all the dining options at Great World City and beyond is open to you.

But just in case you want something there and then, they’ve also partnered with Japanese charcoal grill restaurant Tajimaya as a food partner. Order via a QR code at your table and they’ll deliver straight to your seats.
It is also worth mentioning that even though it’s a bottle shop, use of glassware, buckets, and ice are all provided complimentary. So if you’re looking for a fuss-free drink-in venue while enjoying retail rates, look no further.
